Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Media Yard LLC, a United States limited liability company that operates CostPerJob at costperjob.com. New Jersey is our place of establishment. Postal address: Media Yard LLC, PO Box 73, Pennsauken, NJ 08110. They cover the site and the shop OS product. Creating an account or using the service is acceptance. The Privacy notice, DPA, and AI policy are part of this agreement.

What this is / is not

CostPerJob is a shop OS for a shop’s jobs and money. v1 is the money loop: pricebook, estimate, open job, scorecard, margin history. It is built for solo trades and 1–2 truck crews.

CostPerJob is not a field-service OS. We do not schedule, dispatch, route crews, send outbound SMS, take job payments, sync QuickBooks, keep inventory, or offer a generative estimator. CSV export is the complement to the books — not a replacement.

Plans

Free is $0, three open jobs, watermarked estimate PDFs allowed, no credit card needed. Pro is $29 per month, unlimited open jobs, unwatermarked PDFs. Pricing on /pricing wins if a number here is stale. Paid plans renew until you cancel.

Who owns what

You own the pricebook, estimates, job logs, and scorecards you enter. Media Yard LLC owns CostPerJob: the software, the site, and our marks. We do not claim your shop, your customers, or your books.

Acceptable use

You need a work email and you must be 18. CostPerJob is a B2B product. Magic link is how you sign in when the app is live. You are responsible for people you invite and for the numbers you log.

Do not probe or scrape other workspaces. Do not overload the service. Do not resell CostPerJob as a field-service platform. Report abuse to support@costperjob.com with the subject line Abuse.

Cancel plan vs Close account

Cancel plan takes you to Free. The account stays. The three-job cap then applies. Close account erases the workspace. Invoice and tax records stay as the law requires.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that we are required by law to stop serving. Ownership, amounts already due, liability, and governing law survive cancellation or closure.

Confidentiality

Each of us will keep the other’s non-public information confidential and use it only to run CostPerJob. That includes your jobs and scorecards, and our non-public product details. It does not cover information that is public, already known, independently developed, or that the law requires us to disclose.

Data protection

Where UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or similar law applies to job records you store with us, you are the controller and Media Yard LLC is the processor — or, if you yourself process that data on behalf of another controller, you are the processor and we are the sub-processor. The DPA is incorporated by using the service. You do not need a wet signature. Email hello@costperjob.com from the account email if you need a countersigned copy.

Payment

Paid plans are billed by Stripe in US dollars when billing is live. Free is $0. No credit card needed. Fees are exclusive of tax we are required to collect.

No SLA

There is no service-level agreement and no service credit. Support is email, best effort, on weekdays, US Eastern Time.

No lawyer on staff

Media Yard LLC has no lawyer on staff. These terms, Privacy, the DPA, and the AI policy are published so you can read them. They have not been reviewed by counsel. Nothing on costperjob.com is legal advice.

What we do not promise

The scorecard is a report from the numbers you log. Media Yard LLC is not SOC 2 or HIPAA certified. CostPerJob is not legal, tax, or estimating advice, and it is not a field-service platform. The service is provided as available, AS-IS, with no warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, as the law allows.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Media Yard LLC is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect damages, and total liability for a claim is the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (zero on Free). Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, or any right that UK or EU law says we cannot limit. If a mandatory consumer or data-protection right conflicts with this paragraph, that right wins for that claim.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or the EU AI Act applies of its own force. If a court has to hear a dispute that New Jersey can hear, it will be in New Jersey. We will email notice of material changes to the work email on the account. If you do not agree, stop using CostPerJob. Keep using after that email is acceptance.
